Celebrating Pride in our Local Heritage

The ‘Paint The Town Proud’ arts in heritage project is working in collaboration with a number of local, national and international artistscreative organisations and community groups across several venues and locations throughout Grimsby and Cleethorpes.

'The project has been created to celebrate Grimsby's world-famous heritage in unique, innovative and creative ways, and is designed to appeal to local communities and national audiences alike'.

2023 - 2025

Due to the success of the 'Paint The Town Proud' project and many community requests for more murals throughout Grimsby and Cleethorpes, Creative Start were approached by NELC's 'Grimsby Creates' team to bring a new focus back to the project for a further 2 years.

Creative Start were tasked to provide more murals throughout Grimsby and Cleethorpes and have continued to engage with local, national, and international artists, bringing them to the area to paint their work for the community to enjoy.

A new team was created by Creative Start with former volunteer and artist from the 'Great Wall Of Grimsby' mural Kathleen Smith taking over management of the project from Becky Darnell.

2021 - 2023

As a result of Arts Council funding being successfully secured by NELC via their 'Grimsby Creates' organisation, We put together a tender with a team of partner organisations and professionals and secured funding to deliver a series of community-driven murals throughout the town.
