The Digital Comeback

We're building a digital platform to enable our recovery community to connect with others online.

As part of our mission to bring the 'Art of Recovery' to people throughout our local communities, a new workspace has been built in our Abbey Walk Studio, dubbed the 'Community Digital Studio' @creativestart.digital

Alongside the management of our community digital projects, the studio is tasked with building a digital platform to enable our recovery community to connect with others online, expand our reach to 'the hard to reach' and to signpost local people to services available locally for those struggling with addiction and mental health issues.

We've code-named it 'The Digital Comeback'. During the lockdown we were supported by the National Emergencies Trust and have secured funding from The National Lottery Community Fund as part of the Government’s £750m support package for charities to add equipment and software to our digital studio to help us produce the platform.

We've got lots of digital projects taking shape behind the scenes, online recovery meetings are running every week, a selection of podcasts and vlogs are in production, digital photoshoots are taking place, our online merchandise store is slowly taking shape and the studio has a wide selection of tools and digital equipment necessary for local people in recovery, artists and creatives to come and collaborate on a range of digital art projects.
