Our Vision

Creative Start Arts in Health CIC has been supporting Grimsby for over 8 years.

Creative Start Arts in Health CIC delivers an abstinence based recovery programme, using Art as an integral part of all recovery.

We provide structured mutual aid and peer-support, activities and creative opportunities for our members, including those with a range of mental challenges to encourage positive well-being.

We promote a safe and honest environment and our peer support structure focuses on trust and personal development. We aim to provide a service that people feel part of and therefore include our members in all aspects of running the service.

We follow mutual aid principles, therefore all our workshops and support groups are free of charge but we accept donations.

Creative Start has set up and delivered peer support groups and arts in health workshops at all local Addiction services including Harbour Place, Care Plus, The Roundabout, ADS, Foundations and Addaction.

We have surpassed all expectations on every project we have delivered and all projects have been delivered on time and within budget.

We are very passionate about Recovery in the local area and fully prepared and committed to the 'Recovery Community' project.

We will work to strengthen and develop our vision throughout the lifetime of the service, using the principles of peer-support and co-design to set milestones and identify opportunities for collaboration.

This will include working with members of the 'Recovery Community' and their friends and family, the commissioners and partner agencies and services including police, health services and voluntary and community sector organisations.

Feedback from the Art in Recovery workshops has been excellent.

How does our project actively involve as wide a range of people as possible?

All other services will be made aware of the project. It will be open to their service users and we aim to act as a signposting station to all other areas of support.

The group will be open to all members of the community that are affected by addictive behaviour. This includes 'affected others', those that are affected by an others addiction.

The group will be service user lead. It is an open group and Members' creative ideas' will be encouraged and all members' opinions & ideas are valid.

We will continue to strengthen and develop our vision throughout the lifetime of the service, using the principles of co-design to set milestones and identify opportunities for collaboration.

This includes working with members of the 'Recovery Community' and their friends and family, the commissioners, partner agencies and local services including police, health services and voluntary and community sector organisations.
